AKC Obedience began in 1936, and the purpose of the ABMC Obedience Hall of Fame is to recognize dogs who have attained outstanding achievements in the sport of AKC obedience.<\/p>\n
Obedience Hall of Fame requirements:<\/p>\n
To be inducted into the ABMC Obedience Hall of Fame, a dog must have achieved any one<\/strong> of the following:<\/p>\n 1. The dog is an Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH) In addition to achieving one<\/strong> of the above, all<\/strong> of the following requirements must also be met:<\/p>\n 1. The owner of the dog must be a member of the ABMC, or have been a member of ABMC during the time the dog was being exhibited Inductions into the Halls of Fame are made at the National Specialty occurring in the calendar year following<\/strong> the year the qualifying title was earned and retroactive applications based on the qualifying title being earned in a previous year are also accepted.\u00a0 The application, requested materials, and Jotform must all be received by February 1st \u00a0in order for the dog to be inducted at that calendar year’s \u00a0National Specialty.<\/p>\n Contact the Obedience HOF Chair Karen Shivers stonefox4085@gmail.com<\/a> to apply. 2. The dog is an Obedience Grand Master (OGM)
3. The dog has earned BOTH a Utility Dog Excellent 5 (UDX 5) AND an Obedience Master 5 (OM 5)
4. The dog placed in the top 10 overall (all breeds) at an AKC National Obedience Invitational
5. The dog placed in the top 4 of the Herding Group at an AKC National Obedience Invitational<\/p>\n
2. Copies of the title certificates validating the dog’s achievements have been submitted
3. A copy of the dog’s AKC registration papers has been submitted
4. A photograph of the dog has been submitted
5. After<\/strong> the HOF chair has verified that all the above requirements have been met, a Jotform HOF application for the dog must also be submitted. \u00a0The HOF chair will either complete the Jotform themselves, or provide that URL for the owner to complete.<\/p>\n
