Two Options for Working Dog titles and ROM applications
Recording ROM-eligible Working Dog Titles on the dog’s AKC records
The American Belgian Malinois Club (ABMC) and the American Working Malinois Association (AWMA) are pleased to announce the inauguration of a partnership to record working dog titles for Belgian Malinois on their AKC pedigrees. The program is retroactive to titles offered since 2000. Through this program, applicants will submit their information independently to both the AKC and to the AWMA.  Working titles eligible to recorded by the AKC through this program can be found on the AKC website at this link .   (Note:  not all of the working dog titles listed here are eligible for the ROM program.  Please check that first!) Titles must have been earned at an AWMA trial and the dog must have a score book that documents this title. Two forms (one for AKC and one for AWMA) are submitted.  When the AKC title certificate arrives showing  ROM-eligible working dog titles, use that title certificate with the ROM application that is submitted to the ROM Custodian.
• as of July 18, 2025, ROM-eligible Working Dog titles that do NOT appear on the dog’s AKC records are now also able to be accepted.  These must first be verified by the Working Dog Committee before submitting the dog’s ROM application. Send the following material directly to the Working Dog Committee, c/o Miranda Genetti neverlandk9@gmail.com: 1) a short video of the scorebook showing the cover, the dog’s information page, and the titling page (this is preferred) or 2) photographs of working title certificates may also be submitted. Material should indicate the following information: dog’s registered name, registration number, title earned, and date the title was awarded. The Working Dog Committee will confirm their verification with the applicant and the ROM Custodian. After verification has been confirmed, please go ahead and submit the remaining application materials requested (near the end of the ROM page) directly to the ROM Custodian.
